Due to its role in nutrient metabolism and energy production, it is generally recommended to consume biotin in the morning or mid-day. Avoiding supplementation at night is advised, as it could potentially interfere with sleep.

Biotin can be taken with or without food, as there are no specific dietary requirements for its absorption. However, some individuals may find it easier on the stomach to take biotin with a meal. If you have a sensitive stomach, you may want to take it with food to minimise the risk of any potential stomach discomfort.

Biotin deficiency is common in pregnant women and taking a safe and recommended dose during pregnancy supports Mother and Baby’s health.

Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin, which means your body stores what it needs and eliminates the excess through urine. However, Biotin can be challenging to absorb, which is why we provide higher levels in our supplements to ensure adequate absorption. Initially, the body can absorb about 50% of the first 2mcg, but absorption decreases exponentially:

2% absorption up to 500mcg = 10mcg absorbed
1.3% absorption up to 1000mcg = 13mcg absorbed
